This is Shomei Tomatsu's (1930-2012) second photobook after the photobook "
<11:02> NAGASAKI". Originally, it was planned to be published by Shashin Dojinsha, the same as "<11:02> NAGASAKI", but the company went bankrupt due to poor management, and Tomatsu's own publishing company "Shaken" was quickly released. It was published as a self-published book. The contents are divided into 10 parts: "Drifted", "Osorezan", "Asphalt", "Landscape", "Town of Ceramics", "Town of Textiles", "Ghost Town", "Chindon", "Homes", and "Occupation". Taro Yamamoto, Takahiko Okada, Tatsuo Fukushima, Mitsuharu Ito, Koji Taki, Yoshiro Ishido, and Arata Isozaki have contributed articles. From his substantial debut work "Town of Ceramics" to "Asphalt", which is a photograph of the urban landscape, his early masterpieces are included. In particular, the "Occupation" series, in which the situation in Japan, which is undergoing Americanization, is cut from a critical position, occupies an important position in the genealogy of his work.
