Hitoshi Ohashi began his career as a photographer in 1993 when he won the Excellence Award at the New Cosmos of Photography, a photo contest sponsored by Canon, on the recommendation of Nobuyoshi Araki. In 1999, he published his photo book ``Continued in front of my eyes''. In 2005, he published ``Now'', which was composed of the process of 10 pregnant women giving birth, and in 2012, ``I'm going to sit there'', which depicts an orgy scene involving 300 men and women. Each time, it has shocked many people. His photographs, which explore human nature with vividness and imagination, including this book that records the scene of his father-in-law's suicide attempt and its aftermath, are seen as a direct successor to Nobuyoshi Araki. Incidentally, there is an anecdote that the designer Satoru Machiguchi, who served as the art director, was on-site at Toppan Printing for a month to complete the book. This record remains the longest standing record yet.
