NIPPON, first published in October 1934 by Nippon Kobo, headed by Natori Yonosuke (1910-1962), was a graph magazine for foreign cultural propaganda that put photojournalism into practice. Each issue was produced using the best staff and printing technology of the time, including design work by Yamana Fumio and Kono Takashi, photography by Natori Hajime, Domon Ken, and Fujimoto Shihachi, and art by Kamekura Yusaku and Takamatsu Jinjiro. It boasts a level of perfection that rivals, if not surpasses, advanced European graphic magazines. NIPPON not only represents the pinnacle of Japanese photojournalism, graphic design, and printing technology, but is also a great magazine for interpreting Japan's international strategy. In the first period, issues 1 to 12 are reproduced as much as possible with current technology. This will reveal the full picture of the magazine, which has remained a mystery even among researchers and experts until now.
