December 1987. Irving Penn (1917-2009) took a picture of Issey Miyake's costume in New York, and the following year, Libroport published a photo book "
ISSEY MIYAKE PHOTOGRAPHS". It's unclear whether Penn liked the work at that time, or Issey Miyake liked it, and how it came about, but this book is a dream collaboration that can be called a sequel. It was produced in conjunction with the exhibition "ISSEY MIYAKE TWIST" commemorating the opening at Benesse House in Naoshima. The book design is by Ikko Tanaka (1930-2002). Contributed by Tadao Ando at the end of the book.
