At Dainichi Reiki Shrine (Dainichido) in Hachimantai, Kazuno City, Akita Prefecture, located on the border between Iwate Prefecture and Aomori Prefecture, and where temperatures can drop to -20 degrees Celsius in the bitter cold of winter, the shrine is held on January 2nd every year from four villages. A ``sirido'' is a festival where dancing is performed by the gathered Nohshu. Photographer Yukari Jizo has been closely following this festival, which has been passed down for 1,300 years, since 2012, and has visited almost every year since then, taking photos during her stay there. There is an anecdote that this book was decided to be published as a photo book in 2016 after the photo shoot won the grand prize at the "STEIDL Book Award Asia" held in Singapore. This is the ultimate book that took four years to complete after detailed discussions with Gerhard Steidl of Steidl. A valuable moment is also recorded in the history of Japanese folklore.
