Photographer Stephen Gill is interested in the mechanisms of cities and always produces unique works. In this book, he offers a guidebook-like perspective on the objects, scenery, and actions we see every day. He draws attention to things that we see in our daily lives but don't pay much attention to, such as people walking while listening to music, cash machines, day trippers, women pulling carts, and museum guards. By photographing these subjects over and over, he notices a mysterious sensation emerging. The book is reminiscent of August Sander's "People of the 20th Century" and Japanese "Modernology."
