Tokyo in the 1990s. Photographer Kodama Fusako was in charge of the culture column of the Mainichi Shimbun and a serial in Asahi Graph at the time, so she walked the streets almost every day and went to places where people gathered. Although the photos are of ordinary, everyday moments, the era is felt in the way they record the hustle and bustle from the perspective of the city, such as the subjects' clothes, faces, hairstyles, and the buildings reflected in the background. It really makes you realize what has remained the same about the streetscape, and what has changed. Those who actually lived through this era may feel nostalgic, while those who were not born may feel a sense of freshness.
