A photo collection by Hungarian photographer Andre Kertesz (1894-1985). His life as a photographer is recorded in chronological order through his works. It provides a comprehensive look at the works from the early Hungarian and French eras, to the distortion and American eras, and then to the later years. For the time being, this is the first book to get started with Kertesz.
Andre Kertesz was born in Budapest, Hungary. He began photography when he was 18 years old and moved to Paris in 1925. While working as a photographer for Graph magazine, he interacted with Man Ray, Chagall, and others. While he takes snapshots of Paris with a Leica in hand, he also has an experimental side, such as publishing a collection of nude photographs with severely distorted bodies in the 1930s. He then moved to New York and published his work in magazines, but died in 1985.
