Takehiko Nakafuji is a photographer born in Tokyo in 1970. He dropped out of Waseda University's Faculty of Letters. He graduated from Tokyo Visual Arts Department of Photography. He has exhibited works both domestically and internationally, focusing on monochrome urban snapshots. This book contains photographs taken during a visit to Hokkaido, where he spent a period of time as a child. Hokkaido in summer and Hokkaido in winter. It is divided into two volumes, each titled ``Sakuan,'' which means ``summer is coming,'' and ``Matapaan,'' which means ``winter is coming,'' in the Ainu language.
