Painter, sculptor and photographer William Christenberry is best known for his large-format color photographs using a vintage Kodak Brownie camera. He also creates works using mm Kodachrome slide film. This book is the first publication to introduce a series of hitherto unknown works from 1964 to 2007. The subject of all photographs is the rural South of the United States. Winding back roads, rusty signs, and old local architecture in Hale County, Alabama. His return to photography after decades makes it all the more iconic.
