Photographer Suzuki Kiyoshi (1943-2000) left behind only eight photobooks during his lifetime. This is his third. The title "Mind Games" is said to come from a vivid memory of a circus that Suzuki went to see with his father in a mining town as a child. In addition to the clowns, performers, and acrobats of the traveling circus, which he photographed as if tracing those memories, Suzuki also photographed another wanderer, homeless person Urasaki Tetsuo, who wandered around Suzuki's neighborhood, over a period of two years. The series is made up of four parts. Techniques such as close-ups and repetition are used to create a unique sense of space, flow, and drift. Designed by Hitoshi Suzuki. Incidentally, this book is dedicated to Shoji Yamagishi(1930-1979), who was the editor of Camera Mainichi, the magazine in which Suzuki made his debut.
