Photographer Nick Waplington befriends two working-class families in Nottingham, England. For about four years, the photographer became part of the tumultuous turmoil of this family's life and spent much time photographing them. The wide variety of camera angles, the careless behavior of the children, the exhausted expressions of the adults, and the quarrels between husband and wife, all of which highlight the unique characteristics of British families. Art critic John Berger and photography giant Richard Avedon contributed essays, Tibor Kalman was in charge of art direction, and the prominent members were Nick's first. I am involved in this book.
