A collection of unpublished works by Italian painter Amedeo Modigliani (Amedeo Clemente Modigliani 1884-1920). The nearly 450 works included in this book have never been published or exhibited before, and have been in storage for more than 70 years, but they represent the most important and obscure period in Modigliani's life. It can be said that this is the only evidence that shows the work of an artist of the same period. The works included were regularly purchased from Modigliani and collected by French physician Paul Axelandre. Contains sketches, theatrical drawings, caryatids, sculptural heads, nudes, portraits, and painting studies.
