Photo collection of African American artist Roy Decalaba (1919-2009). He was the first African American artist to get a Guggenheim Scholarship. This book is the first comprehensive collection of his work as a photographer. In addition to New York street photos from the end of the 1940s to the end of the 1970s, portraits of jazz musicians such as John Coltrane were also recorded in chronological order.
