During the World War I in 1915, the artistic movement "Dada" emerged based in several European cities such as Zurich in neutral Switzerland and Berlin in Germany. Among them, Kurt Schwitters (1887-1948) developed his own "Dada" in Germany's regional city of Hanover. About half of this book is composed of text, but it is roughly divided into two sections, "Mertz's invention period" and "Mertz's development period", and the illustrations are arranged in chronological order although the color is small.
